Walmart and Target have carried this TMNT Mutant Mayhem line consistently the last couple years, this basic four set from ’23. For some time I’ve been considering another set of Turtles, while diving into Mattel’s Turtles of Grayskull mashup, and more recently picking up a couple premium TMNT toys. I’m not familiar with the animated movie and subsequent TV show these are related to, but the accessories, including adorable baby turtles for eight bucks on Walmart.com. I like that they sent it in its shipper inside the outer cardboard box- clean sample:

Not only do they come with the traditional snap-off accessory rack, but separate, painted weapon accessories- for three of them anyway. (And the aforementioned baby turtles!) They all can stow weapons in the belts strapped on their shells. The articulation isn’t Marvel Legends, but they can be posed- I had fun with them! As many times as I passed them by, I like their cartoony aesthetic and distinct build and color from one another. The expressions on their faces are funny! Donatello’s glasses, headphones, and fanny pack can all be unpegged if you want a more straight-ahead look for them all together.

Together in some arcade back in the ’80s is where these Turtles look like they belong! Again, was never a hardcore TMNT guy, but these figures feel like they retained some of the original ’87 animated vibe, but you tell me…

I think Mutant Mayhem Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo
