My preorder for this Legends of Dragonore Ignytor was finally fulfilled through BBTS recently after months of delay past the initially projected delivery date, and recent word from Formo Toys via social media pushed the second wave of figures further out as well. But you can get both dragons, Ignytor and Pyrant, and the 1.5 Wave is in stock as well. I’d love to have that recolored 1.5 Wave, but you can’t have everything- not enough room! I was surprised at the compactness of this dragon’s packaging, separated among three trays with an elaborately illustrated booklet detailing assembly in upright position on one side, and rider mode on the other. The conversion is really only a change of front limbs and repositioning of the head, the neck peg inserted into the port on back of the dragon’s head. I wish the chest harness would fit a little tighter around the Ignytor’s body so the rider/saddle wouldn’t drift, but it’s manageable. The pegs are tight so be patient and try a hair dryer to soften the plastic if necessary.

The deco and sculpt are simple in the way a fantasy toy of this style should be, with bright, playful color. “Toyetic” would be the appropriate adjective. Ignytor is an expensive toy, but worth it to me- Formo Toys isn’t pumping out the kind of volume larger companies do, so a smaller production run is going to be more costly. Like the other Legends of Dragonore figures I have, I love the overall quality of this dragon, solid and well crafted. Formo Toys has produced a line of fantasy toys we might have had in the ’80s.
