I’ve admired Playmobil for quite some time but never bought anything from them until seeing this Haunted Ruin promo pack set at a deep discount. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I figured this would make a great a great display for the season. The enormous pile of parts I dumped out of the box kind of surprised me! There were a few stickers to place, which always intimidates me a bit, but I managed those perfectly in spite of myself.

There are several glow-in-the-dark elements in this set, which is impressive in size and absolutely packed with accessories. The three figures all have a lot of personality: a vampire, a gentleman in Victorian dress who seems to be in charge of the laboratory, and a green Frankenstein’s Monster type. I’m delighted with the all-around play value!

The front of the castle ruins is presentable, but the interior

with all its contents is really the side to be displayed …

I also picked up this Halloween Ghost Warrior pack that came packed in a jack-o-lantern from an eBay seller, as well as a boxed Special Plus Dracula on sale from Playmobil direct while ordering my Haunted Ruin set…
